• All-State tryouts are open to athletes of programs who hold current WACPC membership.
• The All-State process is a free benefit to our WACPC members. There is no charge for registration.
• Athletes must be presently enrolled in grades 9-12.
• Original choreography is required.
• The performance must follow all National Federation Rules for a high school candidate or USASF Rules for an all-star candidate.
• Candidates are asked to appear in a performance costume/uniform.
• Please be sure to read ALL of the All-State information carefully. Not following the registration procedure or omitting information may result in
disqualification.
• Participants must register online by January 3rd. No late submissions will be accepted.
• If your team is not participating in the WACPC Regional High School Championships or the WACPC State All-Star Championships, your coach or adult
supervisor MUST submit a team liability form with a copy of your registration.
• Participants will NOT receive their score sheets, individual scores, or a score listing of all the participants.
• Both the cheer and dance all-state tryouts are open for public viewing. Admission to their respective state event is required.
• Upon selection, all-state team members are required to be individually photographed by Empire Photography for upcoming publications.
• The routine is limited to a maximum time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.
• Live All-State tryouts will be conducted during the WACPC State High School Cheer Championships. The All-State tryout performances will take place in
the “old” Hall of Fame. Performances can be viewed by the participant’s team and a limited number of spectators.
A schedule for the All-State tryouts will be available online approximately one week prior to the event.
• The WACPC All-State Team will be announced during the final awards presentation.
• Athletes will have 3 standard 6’x42’ cheer mats available for their performance. The length of the mats will be placed parallel to the judges. See the All-State Room Floor Plan for assistance in designing your routine.
• The participation maximum for each team are as follows:
~ Teams of 0-11: 2 participants are eligible
~ Teams of 12-17: 3 participants are eligible
~ Teams of 18+: 4 participants are eligible
• Individuals will by evaluated by a panel of 4 judges. One judge evaluates Jumps; another evaluates Tumbling; and two judges will evaluate
the Cheer and Dance criteria area. All four judges score Overall Appeal for a total of 100 points possible.
~Judge 1...JUMPS (Technique 10, Variety and Difficulty 10, Overall Appeal 5)
~Judge 2...TUMBLING (Technique 10, Variety and Difficulty 10, Overall Appeal 5)
~Judge 3...CHEER AND DANCE PRESENTATION (Execution 10, Variety and Creativity 10, Overall Appeal 5)
~Judge 4...CHEER AND DANCE PRESENTATION (Execution 10, Variety and Creativity 10, Overall Appeal 5)
• The routine is limited to a maximum time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.
• Live All-State tryouts will be conducted during the first session of the WACPC State High School Dance Championships.
• A D1 and D2 All-State Dance Team will be chosen.
~The D1 team will be chosen from schools with enrollment of 1000 or larger.
~The D2 team will be chosen from schools with enrollment of 999 and under.
~All Star athletes in grades 9-12 are eligible to tryout for the division that corresponds to the dancer's school size.
• All-State tryouts for the D1 team will be conducted in North Hall concurrent with the D3, D4, and D5 Pom performances. All-State tryouts for the D2 team will
be conducted in North Hall concurrent with the D1 and D2 Pom performances. A schedule for the All-State tryouts will be available online approximately
one week prior to the event.
• The participation maximum for each team are as follows:
~ Teams of 0-11: 2 participants are eligible
~ Teams of 12-17: 3 participants are eligible
~ Teams of 18+: 4 participants are eligible
• Individuals will by evaluated by a panel of 4 judges. Each judge will score one of the following 25-point criteria areas for a total of 100 points possible.
~Judge 1...CHOREOGRAPHY/CONSTRUCTION (Presentation 10, Uniqueness and Appeal 10, Overall Impression 5)
~Judge 2...TECHNIQUE/KINETICS/SKILLS (Leaps and Jumps 10, Turns 10, Control 5)
~Judge 3...DIFFICULTY/EXECUTION (Level of Difficulty/Creativity 10, Precision 5, Musicality 5, Lack of Mistakes 5)
~Judge 4...SHOWMANSHIP (Expression and Emotion of Movement 10, Intricacy and Pace of Movement 10, Projection 5)
